Today I opened the utility closet to get my watering can to water my plants. I smiled as I took it off of the hook that it rests on in the closet. My sweetie put this hook up a few weekends ago without me asking, just because he thought it would be easier for me to find and get it when I need to take care of the plants. It was just a sweet, thoughtful gesture that I appreciate very much. Take a minute to think about all those “little” things your partner does that make your life a little easier or a little brighter. It may be making your coffee in the morning, taking your clothes to the cleaner or watching the kids so you can sleep in. Little things mean a lot and so does a little appreciation and/or acknowledgment.
Iman lipgloss in Impetutous
Another pretty orange\coppery shade for summer. I love Iman and think that she has a great line for women of color. I have worn the makeup for years but this is my first gloss. It is not too sticky and does not have a heavy scent. I go light with this one because it tends to get bright if you use a heavy hand. But with just a tap, it gives a pretty glow that lights up my face.
Loreal Hip Lip Gloss
I am a lip gloss junkie!! And when I find one that is not too sticky, not too shiny, does not have an icky taste/smell AND is affordable…I am in love!!! Here is one of my new favs. Above is from the Loreal Hip line #280. This is pretty for everyday. The colors can be worn individually or together. I like mine 70/30, of the lighter shade to the darker. Cute.
Holy Tacos
Since I am not eating flour tortillas, I have started eating corn tortillas instead. They are actually quite good and have more of an authentic flavor I think. Here is a beef brisket, shrimp and fish taco. With a margarita on the side:)
Keith Sweat
Do you remember when this guy sat on top of the R & B charts?? He made the mid tempo and slow songs that everybody bumped in their car or put on those quiet storm mix tapes we used to make for whoever we were dating. And though everybody agreed he “couldn’t” sing. Well at least not in the traditional way, there was something about that nasally whining that worked. Keith made some good music that still sounds good today. Remember Make it Last Forever? Merry Go Round? Don’t Stop Your Love? or his work with LSG (which consisted of Eddie Levert, Keith and Johnny Gill)?

I have never been a milk lover. As a child, I put milk on my cereal or had a glass with a warm chocolate chip cookie but that’s about it. A few years ago, I stopped drinking milk all together because of some growing research that all of the crap that is fed and pumped into the cows is being linked to cancer and acne among other things.

Glutino Pretzels
Add this to your list of gluten free snacks that taste like the “real” thing!! My entire family loves these and think they taste better than the “real” thing. I have to tell them hands off though, these puppies are $5 a bag!!:)
