Qhmet Amla & Olive Oil Heavy Cream
Since I have “gone natural” and over the past few months I have purchased A LOT of products. A LOT. My bathroom looks like the hair care aisle at the drugstore or beauty supply store. There are shampoos, conditioners, lotions, moisturizers, potions, creams, curlers and clips. I have been on the hunt for products that contain natural ingredients, have no or little synthetic ingredients, smell nice and most of all make my hair look good. Most of my inspiration comes from what Youtubers are raving about on their videos. Last week I went to a local health food store here in GA, Return to Eden. I saw from the Qhmet website that they carry Qhmet hair products. I love this store and go here for my gluten free goodies so this excited me even more. They have an aisle in the front of the store devoted to natural beauty/body products. And I was in luck because they had the Qhmet products and there were testers to try the product!!! I came specifically for the Amla & Olive Oil Heavy Cream, purchased it and I LOVE IT!!!! My hair is soft without feeling weighed down, greasy or sticky. I used it to do a dry twist out with aloe vera gel and it came out really soft, defined and cute. I am so happy and am loving this Qhmet. It is $16.50 a jar but this is worth it to me for a product that works!!
Betty Crocker Gluten Free Mixes
Betty Crocker one of the leaders in the boxed mix game has gotten into the gluten free market. I tried the brownie mix and it was good, tasted like “real” brownies. My son gobbled them up and stated “they taste the same.” The cookie mix, not as good. They had a good taste in terms of flavor but the texture was wrong. It ended up feeling like sand in my mouth. If they could find a way to make this cookie moister it would be pretty decent. To round out the trio, there is a cake mix which I have in my cabinet and will probably try this weekend. Iman lipgloss in Impetutous
Another pretty orange\coppery shade for summer. I love Iman and think that she has a great line for women of color. I have worn the makeup for years but this is my first gloss. It is not too sticky and does not have a heavy scent. I go light with this one because it tends to get bright if you use a heavy hand. But with just a tap, it gives a pretty glow that lights up my face.
Loreal Hip Lip Gloss
I am a lip gloss junkie!! And when I find one that is not too sticky, not too shiny, does not have an icky taste/smell AND is affordable…I am in love!!! Here is one of my new favs. Above is from the Loreal Hip line #280. This is pretty for everyday. The colors can be worn individually or together. I like mine 70/30, of the lighter shade to the darker. Cute.
Holy Tacos
Since I am not eating flour tortillas, I have started eating corn tortillas instead. They are actually quite good and have more of an authentic flavor I think. Here is a beef brisket, shrimp and fish taco. With a margarita on the side:)
Organic Valley Milk
I have never been a milk lover. As a child, I put milk on my cereal or had a glass with a warm chocolate chip cookie but that’s about it. A few years ago, I stopped drinking milk all together because of some growing research that all of the crap that is fed and pumped into the cows is being linked to cancer and acne among other things. Organic Valley milk products are ALL certified organic and produced without antibiotics, synthetic hormones and pesticides. Just good, healthy milk!
